How to Use OraCoat XyliMelts
OraCoat XyliMelts are oral-adhering discs designed to provide long-lasting relief from dry mouth during the day and while sleeping. The discs attach to your teeth or gums and dissolve gradually, releasing xylitol and moisturizing ingredients to help keep your mouth comfortable.
For the best results, follow these simple instructions to position and use XyliMelts correctly.
How to Apply XyliMelts
- Identify the adhesive side. Each XyliMelts disc has two sides. The tan-colored side is the adhesive side, while the white side faces your cheek.
- Position the disc. Place the tan adhesive side against the outside surface of a molar (back tooth) or the adjoining gum, on either the upper or lower jaw. The white side should face your cheek.
- Find a comfortable position. Use your tongue to gently move the disc into a comfortable spot.
- Allow it to attach. Once positioned, avoid touching the disc with your tongue for at least 10 seconds. Moving it during this time can interfere with adhesion.
- Let it dissolve naturally. The disc will gradually dissolve, releasing its ingredients over time. There is no need to chew or remove it once properly attached.
Using XyliMelts at Night
For nighttime dry mouth relief, use two XyliMelts discs before bedtime, placing one on each side of your mouth. Their oral-adhering design allows the discs to remain in place and slowly dissolve while you sleep.
XyliMelts typically last approximately 4–8 hours during sleep, depending on individual saliva production and oral conditions.
Using XyliMelts During the Day
For daytime dry mouth, apply XyliMelts as needed throughout the day, following the same placement instructions. The discs generally dissolve more quickly during daytime activities such as talking, eating and drinking.
Typical daytime dissolution time is approximately 1–4 hours, although individual results may vary.
Tips for Best Results
- Always place the tan adhesive side against your tooth or gum, with the white side facing your cheek.
- Position the disc on the outside of a back tooth or adjoining gum rather than directly on your tongue.
- Avoid moving the disc with your tongue during the first 10 seconds after placement.
- For nighttime relief, use one disc on each side of your mouth.
- Allow the discs to dissolve naturally rather than chewing them.
Important Information
XyliMelts are designed to help manage dry mouth symptoms and do not treat underlying medical conditions that may cause reduced saliva production. Follow the instructions provided with your product.
